As of late, Tesla has had a series of incidents of which parked emergency vehicles have been crashed into or hit.

At around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, a Florida trooper had activated his emergency signal lights to aid a disabled vehicle. Within seconds the trooper and the disabled vehicle was then hit by an oncoming Tesla on automated drive. The 27-year-old man who was in the Tesla suffered minor injuries, as well as the driver of the disabled car, and the trooper was reported to be unhurt.

Tesla is reportedly known to have issues when it comes to parked emergency vehicles. However the auto-pilot system has been widely misused by drivers nationwide, whether it’s someone who is drunk behind the wheel using auto-pilot or someone who is in the back seat while the car is on the automated system.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has since opened a probe on Tesla after accumulating 11 crashes that involved emergency vehicles using flares, hazard lights, and caution signs.

An email was sent to Tesla’s press address earlier today, Tesla did not immediately respond.
